Heather Cook-Mikkelson

Heather began her yoga practice in Monterey, California after the birth of her daughter. Eleven years later,  yoga has influenced every aspect of her life from professional choices to the foods she cooks. Heather recently completed the yoga teacher training program at OYBC with Susi Amendola and continues to work as a nurse practitioner in a busy Integrative Medicine practice. She hopes to help students in developing a practice that will help with many aspects of their busy lives.

 

A Chair for Yoga:  Asana is done with a “yoga” chair to help students better access the physical poses. The chair serves as a prop that offers a better understanding of how this poses can feel. The practice is ideal for those wanting a gentler way to more deeply realize the how yoga can transform and heal the body.
