Kim Schwab

Kim Schwab

Kim originally came to yoga through athletics while in graduate school as a way to stretch after workouts and unwind from academic stress. After earning her Masters in English, she began training with Theresa Murphy and Tias Little. She has now been teaching yoga for over a decade and has her 500-hour certification through Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, NM. She weaves yoga philosophy into her classes through a combination of poetry and story, and emphasizes the importance of a healthy sense of humor, curiosity, and alignment, while encouraging students to find an appropriate level of challenge in their practice. As a full-time lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Kim teaches a mindfulness class she developed called The Mindful Student, as well as composition and literature classes. She continues to turn to yoga as a complement to her active lifestyle, both physically and mentally, and enjoys sharing the benefits with her students – both at the university and at the yoga studio.
